Whether your pet requires a routine spay/neuter procedure or a more complex surgery, Madison Park Veterinary Hospital is well-equipped to care for your pet. Our modern facility features a state-of-the-art surgical suite and treatment room, as well as all-new surgical equipment. While undergoing surgery, we monitor your pet's vital signs using blood-pressure and fluid monitors, an EKG machine, doppler blood pressure monitors, breath alerts and other diagnostic equipment. We have invested heavily in the latest veterinary technology to ensure your pet receives top-quality surgical care in a cutting-edge, stress-free environment.

Prior to surgery, each patient receives a thorough physical examination to identify any existing medical conditions that might endanger your pet's health. Because not all problems can be detected on examination, all patients undergo pre-anesthetic blood & urine testing. These tests not only give us a more complete picture of your pet's health, but also allow us to tailor an anesthetic regimen that is specific for your pet.

Pain Management

Your pet's safety and comfort during surgery are very important to us. Pain management and prevention are two of Dr. Byrd's professional interests and Madison Park Veterinary Hospital has developed a series of anesthetic protocols and pain management guidelines to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free. We offer a variety of anesthetic protocols tailored to your pet's individual needs.

State-of-the-art monitoring equipment, such as blood pressure monitors and EKG machines, are used during surgery. IV fluids are required for surgical procedures in order to support the vascular system and provide an open port for rapid medication administration. All surgical patients, including those undergoing routine procedures such as spay/neuter surgeries, receive pain control medications.
